Advanced Training for Lecturers
The Language Learning Center offers foreign language lecturers a wide variety of advanced training events. These programs are developed in collaboration with the Bonn Center for Higher Education (BZH) and can be credited towards the state-wide certificate, “Professional Teaching Competence for Universities”.

Advanced Training offered by the SLZ and the BZH
If you would like to register for advanced training workshops that are jointly offered by the SLZ and the BZH, you can do so through the platform Confluence. Please be aware that in order to use Confluence, you must either be connected to the University of Bonn WIFI-network, or have VPN access.
Certificates of participation are only issued to those participants who attended at least 80% of an event.
Continuing Education offered by the SLZ (Teaching Techniques & Tools)
In addition to the advanced training offered in cooperation with the BZH, the SLZ also hosts a wide range of continuing education workshops in the areas of teaching techniques and digital tools.
To register for one of the SLZ’s continuing education workshops, please inform us of your intent to attend the event by emailing fortbildungen@slz.uni-bonn.de at least 8 days in advance.
Conditions for participation
The didactic education and training programs offered by the SLZ and BZH are primarily designed for lecturers at the University of Bonn. However, all lecturers who teach at a university that is part of the “Hochschuldidaktik NRW” network are welcome to register for our courses, unless stated otherwise. Please be aware that lecturers at the University of Bonn will be given priority when seats are limited. Furthermore, if training programs are specifically designed for language lecturers, then teachers at the SLZ will be given priority during the registration process.
